Amisulpride

Amisulpride

Amisulpride (CAS-RN 71675-85-9) is an antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia and also dysthymia.

Amisulpride works by reducing signaling, blocking the D2 receptor. By obstructing the receptors that regulate the release of dopamine into the synapse, amisulpride increases the dopamine concentration in this process. The increased dopamine concentration acts on another dopamine receptor and relieves depressive and the negative symptoms of schizophrenia.
