Lacidipine (CAS-RN 103890-78-4) is a potent and precise calcium antagonist. It is used in treatments for hypertension. It acts mainly in the vascular smooth muscle, dilating coronary and peripheral arteries, hence lowering blood pressure and reducing peripheral vascular resistance. Because of its long length of action, it does not cause reflex tachycardia.
